Miss Freetown 2026 Shatters Records as the City’s Young Queens Answer the Call
Freetown has spoken —and the response has been electric.
When LAKE Group opened intake for Miss Freetown 2026, no one anticipated the wave of ambition that followed. Young, smart, beautiful women from every corner of the Western Area stepped forward, hopeful of becoming the next queen of their Capital City.
Now, with intake officially closed, the numbers tell the story: 48 aspiring young Sierra Leoneans have entered the race for the crown — the biggest rush of applicants in the franchise’s history under the leadership of Prof. Alhaji K. Tarawally since 2010.
A Legacy Built Over Two Decades
Miss Freetown is no ordinary pageant. Born more than twenty years ago under Sweissy Jewelers and acquired by Dr. Alhaji K. Tarawally (LAKE Group) in 2010, the platform has grown into a movement for mentorship, leadership, and transformation. Through its beloved “Girl Power” initiative, it has empowered hundreds of young women across Sierra Leone since our first event in 2011.

Why the Overwhelming Rush This Year?
The answer is simple: Miss Freetown wins — and everyone wants to be part of the story. This is a platform with a proven track record:
A dominant winning streak — Miss Freetown queens have claimed the Miss Sierra Leone title in the last two consecutive events (2023 & 2025).
A gateway to the world stage — from Mujeh Abdulai (2023) to Lachaeveh Alberta Caizarine Davies (2024), our queens have represented Sierra Leone at Miss World.
Real empowerment — a 12-day encampment in a five-star facility powered by Ayv Sierra Leone (AYV Media Empire) with expert mentorship, training, and capacity-building that turns each contestant into a confident leader.
The Road Ahead: Launch, Audition & The Grand Night
This year, the stakes rise even higher. Two of Sierra Leone’s biggest entertainment powerhouses — LAKE Group and Chapter One SL — have joined forces to deliver the 8th Edition of Miss Freetown, promising a spectacle grander than anything the country has ever seen.
And in a bold twist, the organizers are combining two big moments into a single day: on Saturday, 1st August 2026, at Kabanna Beach Bar, Lumley Beach, the official launch opens at 10:00 AM with a breakfast event for journalists, sponsors, fans, and special guests — followed by the auditions at 12:00 midday, right at the same venue.
The Grand Finale
The journey then builds toward the moment everyone is waiting for. The Grand Pageant Night arrives on Saturday, 28th November 2026, at Chapter One Poolside, beginning at 7:00 PM — a spectacular 2-in-1 event and Sierra Leone’s biggest pageant night, followed by an exclusive *After Party running until 2:00 AM. Early-access pre-tickets and VIP table reservations are available now — secure your spot before they’re gone.
