I often think about the boy from Freetown, Sierra Leone — the one who dared to dream beyond the borders of what seemed possible. That boy walked through war, uncertainty, and the quiet doubt that whispers, “people like you don’t make it that far.”
But here’s what I’ve learned on this journey — from Sierra Leone to Europe, to the United States; from the classroom to the boardroom; from student to professor, CEO, and author:
Success is not a destination you arrive at. It’s a direction you keep walking in — even when the path isn’t clear.
Leadership isn’t about never falling. It’s about rising each time, learning, and moving forward with purpose. Every closed door taught me resilience. Every “no” refined my “why.” And every step — however small — carried me closer to a life I once only imagined.
