His Excellency Julius Maada Bio, Fountain of Honor and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
Today, I address you not only as a senior citizen but also as Dr. Alhaji K. Tarawally, a proud supporter of your political journey. I have contributed both financially and with technical expertise through our joint Political Alliance Agreement during the 2023 Presidential election, and have actively helped promote your campaign for re-election in 2023.
I approach you today, along with many compassionate Sierra Leoneans, with a heavy heart to sincerely ask for mercy on behalf of our friend and sister, Zainab Sheriff.
We all acknowledge that Zainab let her emotions get the best of her. Her words were wrong, and as a nation, we must be guided in our political utterances. I do not wish to argue the politics or the legalities of her four-year sentence; my only desire is to appeal to your deep sense of compassion.
Mr. President, I ask you to see beyond this moment of poor judgment and recognize Zainab as a patriotic Sierra Leonean dedicated to uplifting others. She has been a transformative figure in our creative industry through her girl empowerment initiatives, TV platforms, and modeling agency, providing livelihoods, mentorship, and hope. As a first-time offender and mother, her absence leaves a void in her family. The ordeal has broken her spirit, but I believe she has learned a profound lesson and will emerge a better, more responsible citizen for Sierra Leone.

Therefore, Your Excellency, as we approach our glorious Independence Day on the 27th of April, 2026, I am on my knees asking for your grace. Please use your constitutional power to grant Zainab Sheriff a presidential pardon. Showing mercy to a broken woman who has given so much to our youth would be a profound testament to your fatherly leadership.
Thank you, Mr. President, for your time, your leadership, and your empathy.
Sincerely,
