FREETOWN – September 9, 2025 – The LAKE Group of Companies SL Limited, Sierra Leone’s leading entertainment and multimedia firm, today announced the postponement of its major national and international event franchises to 2026.

This decision allows the company to dedicate its full resources to celebrating its 15th anniversary in December 2025. The rescheduled events include the Miss Freetown Beauty Pageant, Sierra Leone Limited; the National Entertainment Awards Sierra Leone (NEA); the National Music Awards – Sierra Leone Limited (NMA); the National Music Festival – Sierra Leone Limited (NMF); and the Miss Mano River International Beauty Pageant.

Founded in 2010 by Dr. Alhaji K. Tarawally (Laj-K), the LAKE Group has emerged as a leading entertainment powerhouse, playing a pivotal role in elevating Sierra Leone’s cultural profile. Over the past 15 years, the company has produced high-profile events that have left a lasting impact, including the 2021 Africa Music Festival, featuring global star Kizz Daniel, and the 2018 National Music Festival, headlined by Emmerson, Arkman, and Morris. The upcoming anniversary will honor this legacy of excellence, youth employment, and cultural diplomacy through networking galas and international collaborations.

The LAKE Group has consistently delivered acclaimed events despite significant national challenges, including the Ebola outbreak, the COVID-19 pandemic, and periods of political instability. Through strategic partnerships with entities like UNESCO, corporate institutions, and various government ministries, the company remains committed to its mission of showcasing Sierra Leone’s vibrant arts scene and creating entrepreneurial opportunities. This temporary shift in the event calendar ensures that both the anniversary celebration and the renewed 2026 programming will be executed to the highest standard.

“Our 15th anniversary is a unique opportunity to reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and envision a future where Sierra Leone’s culture continues to inspire and unite,” said Kamara Musa Mark, Chief Operating Officer of the LAKE Group. “We are grateful for the unwavering support from our partners and the creative community. We look forward to celebrating with everyone in 2025 as we prepare for an even more dynamic event calendar in 2026.”
